This is getting on my optic nerve

Nothing like a brisk walk in an April downpour… Since I park in the neighbourhood I used to live in as a means to save money, I walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the hospital (this is also forcing me to get some exercise). I do love April showers, but now I think it’s apparent that I need new shoes and a full rain suit. haha

On the weekend I had the pleasure of seeing many of my extended family members at Erin’s wedding. I love you guys! There is definitely a special je ne sais quoi about the Raymond->Ross++ pedigree :)

Today at treatment one of the radiation technicians, Caroline, showed me what the daily CT scans look like. This is because there is now some concern about the amount of built up gunk in my sinuses. I could have told them that given my voice still sounds too awful to even try to sing, and that bad smell is back. According to the CT scan, there is more “non air space” there than there was previous to treatment starting on April 2, meaning that something is taking up space in there. I am not looking forward to my appointment with the ENT this week, as I’m certain it will include some more nasal violation and PNP (professional nose-picking). I gag merely thinking about it.

Well, that’s all you get for today. I need to get some rest, and hopefully find time to contemplate some of the life lessons that go along with this so that I don’t turn into a very very sour and frustrated person.

Cheers!

  1. Hi Stacey,
I’m so impressed with your detailed updates on your treatment and how you’re doing. I check often and read every word and pray every time I’m finished reading. Sounds like you’ll be glad to have it all behind you but you certainly will have a very detailed description of it all in case you forget…ha ha!
Anyway just wanted you to know there are lots of prayers and love sent….
    Love Sheila
